Cheap mini laptopsCheap mini laptops are one of the great inventions of recent years. With big advances in technology and with manufacturing costs coming down all the time most PC hardware brands offer at least one cheap mini laptop in their range.

Featuring a smaller screen, extended battery life and a processor that is more than capable of performing every day tasks cheap mini laptops excel at carrying out most people's computing needs.

Browsing the internet, watching videos, doing emails, running spreadsheets or wordprocessing, even using graphic programs or playing your favourite games, cheap mini laptops can do it all.

Small and light enough to fit in an everyday bag they are extremely portable making cheap mini laptops ideal for students who want something small and light to take into class, ideal for DJs who want something quick and easy that they can set up in their club, ideal for travellers who don't want a heavy laptop to carry around but want to be able to keep in touch with friends from cafes and bars with wireless internet on their travels and ideal for every day home use for both adults and children.

Cheap mini laptops originally shipped with an operating system called Linux. This kept the costs down but meant they couldn't always work with the software most people were used to using. These days virtually all cheap mini laptops come with Windows meaning that they run all of the software you are used to using, just like a regular desktop PC.

Infact using a cheap mini laptop is exactly like using a desktop PC but you can pop it in your bag, carry it around easily, connect it to wireless networks when you are out and about, and all at a fraction of the cost of a desktop PC.

The first company to come out with a cheap mini laptop was Asus. Their EEE PC took the market by storm and launched a whole new concept of personal computing.

Other manufacturers soon followed with  the Acer Aspire One, Dell Mini, Samsung N series, HP Mini, Lenovo Ideapad and Sony Vaio all providing superb cheap mini PC devices bringing personal computing to the the masses.

Mini laptops are much easier to use on crowded public transport than a regular laptop - easily fitting on your lap whether you're on the train, the subway or even sitting on an aeroplane on a long flight. They are also more powerful than more expensive tablet devices and have the advantage of having a proper keyboard so you can type a lot quicker.  Copying your favourite videos to the large hard disks will allow you to watch feature films on long journeys too and their full USB connections mean you can easily plug in cameras, video cameras and even your MP3 player or smartphone to synch them or back up your important files and pictures.
